That path led him into sprint cars with his family-owned No. 89G, where the grind of racing—long drives, late nights, and hard lessons—began shaping him into a professional. Opportunities followed as he climbed the ladder, taking the wheel of Bill Rose’s No. 6 and later Tom and Sherry Leidig’s No. 59, where he gained valuable experience against tougher competition and started to turn heads across the sprint car world.
As his talent became undeniable, Gravel moved into top-tier rides, including the No. 83 with Roth Motorsports, where he truly broke through as a consistent contender on the national stage. His career continued to evolve through key stops with Destiny Motorsports in the No. 7 and CJB Motorsports in the No. 5, before stepping into one of the sport’s most respected seats, the No. 41 with Jason Johnson Racing, where he carried on a powerful legacy while adding wins of his own. Eventually, Gravel found a long-term home with Big Game Motorsports in the No. 2, and it was there that everything came together—his experience, his skill, and his relentless drive—turning him into one of the most dominant drivers of his era.
Along the way, Gravel captured some of sprint car racing’s biggest prizes, including victories at the Knoxville Nationals, the Kings Royal, and the National Open, cementing his reputation as a driver who thrives on the sport’s biggest stages. With dozens of World of Outlaws wins to his name and a place near the top—6th on the all-time wins list—his career stands as proof of what happens when raw talent meets years of hard work.
